Superintendent’s Message

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year here in Geneva City Schools! Everyone associated with GCS from our board members and bus drivers to the teachers and administrators are committed to making this another successful year of learning. Education is a people-business and it is our people—students, staff, parents, and community members—that make Geneva the treasure of the wiregrass. We offer challenging academics, positive learning environments, and a wide variety of extra-curricular and service activities. Our buildings are beautiful, clean, safe, and boast advanced energy-saving features. Our curriculum is rigorous and meaningful and yearly learning goals are established for all students to support them in progressing to the target of graduation. Our teachers are highly qualified and regularly engage in professional learning to improve their effectiveness in the classroom. From safe transportation services to nutritious meals to all of the opportunities to learn and grow through special projects, reading celebrations, field trips, award ceremonies, and Homecoming, Geneva City Schools has a lot to offer. Whatever interests or talents students wish to explore athletically, digitally, or intellectually, there is always something wonderful happening in the schools.

As your superintendent, I am honored to have the opportunity to lead our system in upholding the traditions of excellence and integrity in Geneva City Schools. The beauty of life lies in the journey—enjoy every minute!

My best to you always,

Rhonda Stringham, Ed.D.
