Geneva City Schools serves the education needs for the residents of the city of Geneva, a community with a population of approximately 4,500. Geneva is the county seat for Geneva County located in southeast Alabama 35 miles west of Dothan and 90 miles north of Panama City, Florida. Student enrollment in grades K-12 is approximately 1.300 served by three schools: James A. Mulkey Elementary School (K-5), Geneva Middle School (6-8), and Geneva High School (9-12). Geneva City Schools is district accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Geneva is a member in good standing of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (Class 3A) and fields teams in the sports of football, girls' volleyball, boys' and girls' basketball, boys' baseball, and girls' softball (state runner-up 2011).
